New Canadian Poll Numbers

According to a new Environics poll the Liberals and Tories are still basically tied for support, but Tory support has dropped 3% while the Liberals gained 2%.

Additionally:

Nationally, support for the Tories dropped by three per cent, while the Liberals saw a two per cent increase. The NDP went up one per cent and the Bloc went down by two per cent.

While the Bloc enjoys 42 per cent support in Quebec, unchanged from the January election, the Tories are at 20 per cent support, a drop of five per cent. The Liberals rose two per cent, to 23 per cent.
[...]
Although there was a small drop of support for the Tories nationwide, 63 per cent of Canadians said they were satisfied overall with the way things are going in the country.

Environics also measured dwindling support for the war in Afghanistan, with only 19% saying they 'strongly approve' of Canada's mission there.

Overall, 50 per cent of Canadians asked in November expressed some degree of approval, that is, they either "somewhat approve" or "strongly approve" of Canada's participation in Afghanistan. While that total was up slightly from the October survey, it is a six percentage point drop from June of this year.

In 2002, 75 per cent of Canadians approved of the mission, while 61 per cent did in 2004.

Only 34% believe the Canadian mission will be successful and 59% want Canadian troops out of Afghanistan before 2009.
