Another Slap in the Face From Harper

This is what happens when Steve snubs the Canadian media. We end up learning about our ambassador to South Korea's trip to North Korea via a South Korean president's press release instead of from our own government.

The way the measure was announced was unusual because it was first made public by the South Koreans.

According to the South Korean government Web site, Canada also wants to provide aid to North Korea, an assertion that Canadian diplomats could not explain.

If Canada expects to be taken seriously on the world stage, this type of knee jerk diplomacy on the fly without coordination by the major players involved in the six party talks with North Korea is not the way to do it. And the fact that our diplomats can't even explain these supposed aid efforts further proves the point that Harper has absolutely no idea what he's doing.

This government seems determined to keep embarassing Canada while turning its back on the public's right to know about diplomatic efforts made in our name. That's no way to run a country.
