Right-wing Bloggers Fundraising for Bolton

John Bolton has had his run at being US ambassador to the UN thanks to being appointed by Bush during a recess of congress when Bolton's nomination was basically doomed at the time for very valid reasons which included the WH blocking the release of classified documents related to his background. What were they hiding?

Bush, of course, still wants Bolton to be confirmed but that's all over but the crying.

Or is it?

Some right-wing bloggers are so desperate to see Bolton back at the UN that they're actually willing to fundraise to pay his salary.

If Congress is absolutely determined to reject the best UN ambassador the world has seen in about a quarter of a century — John Bolton — then the only alternative if President Bush wants to keep him is another recess appointment. For that, Bolton would have to work without pay. It’s enough to make a person want to suggest that if you really care about trying to do some good in the world via the UN, stop sending your kids out to collect for UNICEF, and start sending them out to collect donations to keep John Bolton in office.

That's right - let those damn kids starve. John Bolton needs a job!

Start organizing those bake sales, Malkin. You don't have much time left before Bolton is swept into the dustbin of neocon history with the rest of his AEI and PNAC buddies who, you'd think, would be having garage and craft sales too if they really wanted to keep him on.

The fact that these right-wing bloggers think bull in a china shop Bolton is the best choice for UN ambassador shows the level of the bankruptcy of diplomacy in the Bush administration. Then again, perhaps that's exactly why they're supporting him since 'diplomacy' is such a dirty word.
