Neocon Hypocrisy

The front page story of The Independent asks a very simple question:

The article contains selected quotes from neocons and their sympathizers: William Buckley Jr, Andrew Sullivan, Francis Fukuyama, George Will and Richard Perle. Each one of these men pushed the neocon agenda to its very limit, gleefully supported the illegal invasion of Iraq, lobbied on behalf of their president and his plans for global domination and stood by while thousands of people died while claiming "victory".

That these men have all come out recently feigning buyer's remorse when they could have stood up from the very beginning and disavowed this madness by refusing to perpetuate the dangerous propaganda they spewed forth each and every day offers no solace to anyone but themselves. They do not deserve forgiveness any more than any person who has participated in mass murder. They are all responsible for their part in this conspiracy and I just have one thing to say to all of them:

Fuck you.

Do you all honestly think you have the right now to stand with the rest of us who have been against this Iraq horror show since day one? Absolutely not. Take yourselves and what little amount of conscience you have and do us all a favour and fade into history where you belong with the rest of your buddies who think you own the whole damn world.

You have failed and people have died because of it. Your president is not listening - so driven by his megalomaniacal crusade supported by the likes of all of you that he is completely oblivious to reality. That's your fault. Live with it.

The rest of us have had to deal with it every single day while you cheered Bush on. We know the pain. That you are now only beginning to see it shows how incredibly inhumane all of you are and the fact that now, when public support for the war has fallen dramatically, you have suddenly found your voices speaks volumes. You're just rats leaving a sinking ship. Rats with something to gain by speaking out now: the propping up of your own already bloated egos. This isn't about mea culpas. It's about what you all know best: hypocrisy.
