Much Ado About So-Called Suspicious Packages

Anyone who watched anchor Daryn Kagan on CNN this morning couldn't help but notice how utterly stubborn and clueless she really is.

At the White House, a person "known to the Secret Service" (for previous bad behaviour) threw something over the fence and had been taken into custody. Well, CNN being the sensationalistic network that it is in situations like this where it has a live feed, followed the event from start to finish.

Kagan continually referred to the item thrown over the fence as a "suspicious package" despite the fact that a retired Secret Service agent and three CNN reporters, John Roberts, John King and Dana Bash repeatedly told her it was a "small item". There's a difference, but Kagan was bound and determined to hang onto her more serious description.

While this was occurring, reports came in of a finding of something in San Francisco's subway. Once again, Kagan pulled out the "suspicious package" moniker while the retired SS agent told her it should more properly be called an "unattended package" since the actual threat value of the item had yet to be determined. That didn't stop Kagan, however. Everybody knows that "suspicious package" is much more sexy and is bound to scare the pants off anyone tuning in.

Suspicious packages everywhere! Oh my.

Daryn Kagan: I report. You listen to me. No arguing.
