Ralph Klein's Retirement Date Announced

Apparently, it's official: according to a Calgary Herald columnist who appeared on Global TV late this evening, Ralph Klein will retire from politics in October, 2007. Let the countdown to the end of his arrogant reign begin. It can't come soon enough.

The man is well beyond his best before date and deserves to be sent home packing - especially after his latest stunt when he threw the Liberal's Red Book at a legislative page. Who knows what he'll pull between now and fall 2007?

Contenders for his position as premier include former provincial treasurer Jim Dinning along with cabinet ministers Ed Stelmach and Dave Hancock - all Conservatives' conservatives. The race should be interesting - as interesting as these things can be in good old right-wing Alberta. At least it will get Ralph's face (and mouth) off the screen a bit.

Have I mentioned that I can't wait until King Ralph is gone? It's been a long, hard slog.

(Sidebar: when I spell checked my article, the substitution for "Ralph's" was "relapse".) lol
