Disturbing Video With a Song About Killing Iraqi Civilians Surfaces

BBC News reports that a disturbing video has appeared online depicting someone dressed as a US marine singing a song about killing Iraqi civilians. The Marines have begun an investigation to determine who may have been behind this video and if it was, in fact, a real marine.

In the meantime, some on the right are simply writing this off as gallows humour. CAIR is also being criticized by the right, distracting from the actual issue at hand as usual, because it posted the video on its site with a press release.

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 6/13/06) - The U.S. Marine Corps today said it agrees with a prominent national Islamic advocacy group that a video posted on the Internet apparently showing Marines cheering a song that glorifies the killing of Iraqi civilians is “insensitive” and “inappropriate.”

Yesterday, the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) called on the Pentagon and Congress to investigate the four-minute video posted in March on the youtube.com website.

The song’s lyrics include: “I grabbed her little sister and put her in front of me. As the bullets began to fly, the blood sprayed from between her eyes, and then I laughed maniacally. . .I blew those little f**kers to eternity . . .They should have known they were f**king with the Marines.” Members of the audience, not shown in the video, laughed and cheered wildly for these lyrics.

Just a little 'gallows humour' to ease all of that stress the marines are under, right?

Well, if they're under so damn much stress, why aren't you demanding that your president send them home or at least get them some psychological counseling, right-wingers?

I forgot. Rumsfeld would rather send mentally ill soldiers back into combat than take care of them at home - where they should be.
