Rear Adm Harris said he did not believe the men had killed themselves out of despair.
"They are smart. They are creative, they are committed," he said.
"They have no regard for life, either ours or their own. I believe this was not an act of desperation, but an act of asymmetrical warfare waged against us."
I'll tell you what Adm Harris, why don't we lock you up in a tiny cell on a remote island for 5 years, strip away all of your legal rights, deny you contact with your family, keep you away from all news from the outside world, keep you hidden from humantitarian organizations that by law are allowed to help you, shackle you, chain you, force feed you if you exert your Geneva Convention rights to hunger strike, tell you that you will be held indefinitely and then you can tell me that these men suffered no despair.
The inhumanity of such statements is just breathtaking.
