Newsflash: Ignatieff Supports Extension of Afghanistan Mission

Yes, you read that right. Michael Ignatieff, one of the Liberal leadership candidates (whose candidacy I've objected to even before he declared his intentions), has just stated on the floor of the House during the debate on extending the mission in Afghanistan two years past the February 2007 commitment that he will support the Conservative party's motion.

Justify that one, Ignatieff supporters.

How could 'Mr Intellectual' support a plan that doesn't even exist? The Conservatives have given the opposition absolutely no information about this extension, yet somehow Ignatieff thinks he has enough knowledge to back them?

Maybe he should be the next one to cross the floor.

UPDATE: Liberal MP from the Cape Breton Canso riding, Rodger Cuzner, has announced that he will also vote in favour of the motion.
