- Specter v. Cheney: Round Two; Cheney has written a letter defending himself to Arlen Specter (R-PA) who claimed that he had interefered with the Senate Judiciary Committee's attempts to have the three telecom companies involved in the NSA spying program appear at hearings. Cheney wrote that he was concerned about 'a "compulsory process to force testimony" in a matter that could involve classified information'. That, of course, is bullshit because the committee had offered to have telecom representatives tesitify in a closed hearing.
- Intrepid Plame Affair reporter Murray Waas has a new article about former Attorney General John 'Let the Eagle Soar' Ashcroft's refusal to recuse himself from the case for two months after it was handed over to special prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald.
