UN Sanctions Against N Korea Unanimously Approved

The UN Security Council unanimously approved sanctions against North Korea on Saturday while the Chinese ambassador, although voting for Resolution 1718, stated his objections to the plan to inspect all cargo. The North Korean ambassador called the actions "gangster-like", asserted his country's right to defend itself, blamed the US for not having direct talks with the regime, repeated the assertion that any more pressure by the US would be seen as a 'declaration of war' and then walked out. Never one to pass up a chance to be a drama queen, US ambassador John Bolton then pointed to the DPRK's empty chair and said the behaviour of the North Korean ambassador was the equivalent on Nikita Khrushchev pounding his shoe on the table - which the Russian ambassador then scolded him for.

The teacher then declared it was recess time and took a Valium.
