- Senator Patrick Kennedy had a car accident early Thursday morning. CNN was quick to jump on the 'he must have been drunk (because he's a Kennedy)' bandwagon - even citing anonymous sources in high places in congress and the cop shop who claimed he was 'stinking drunk'. Kennedy said he was on Ambien and a nausea drug. The debate continues - while people are dying in Iraq.
- memo to CNN: how about covering the possible Sudan peace deal too? There's a genocide going on over there, in case you haven't noticed.
- The US senate passed their so-called 'emergency' spending bill loaded with none emergency type spending on Thursday. It now moves on to the house where Speaker Dennis Hastert has called it 'dead on arrival'.
- with new Bush approval numbers sitting at 33%, the Associated Press says many Republicans are worried about an "Election Day massacre". Apparently, it's the angry right's fault: "Six of 10 conservatives say America is headed in the wrong direction." Took them long enough to figure that out!
- It's Friday and Rumsfeld still has his job, although Bush is scheduled to make a 'personnel announcement' at 1:45pm ET.
- Canada's Supreme Court has decided that hosts of home parties are not to be held responsible for the actions of their drunk guests.
