Bushco: Talking out of both sides of their mouths

Bush, Cheney and Rice sure like to put on a tough face when they repeatedly refuse in public to talk to their supposed enemies like Syria, North Korea and Iran. Behind the scenes though it seems they're busy outsourcing diplomacy. Daniel Levy writing for HuffPo has more on the talks between Israel and Syria and the fact that Bushco knew about the attempts to reach an agreement to further the peace process.

Perhaps that's why Rice and the rest of the administration have done absolutely nothing but bloviate about the so-called road map. They just decided to let someone else deal with it for them (just as they've pontificated about North Korea while quietly changing their tune) because talking to your enemies makes you look weak, according to their view of so-called diplomacy, and the added bonus is that when Democratic members of congress shuttle off to Syria or elsewhere to actually do so, you can call them 'traitors' and accuse them of treason.
