As Atrios would say, 'looks like it's time for a blogger ethics panel'. There are some blogwars going on this weekend if you're bored and want to something to read. On the left, the outspoken MaryScott O'Connor posted a rant about fear and groupthink over at Daily Kos, which also applies to other community style blogs. It's not going over well at dkos, to say the least. She's also posted it at her blog where the conversation, of course, is much more civil on these matters since...well...it's her blog. I chimed in there because the noise at dkos is just too overwhelming for me.
On the right, some obscure left-wing blogger named Deb Frisch posted some extremely vile comments about a right-wing blogger's child. Now the right is trying to make her out to be either a representative of the left-wing blogosphere or one of our leaders, like this blogger whose title reads: 'A Proud Member of the Toddler-Threatening Community'. Left-wing bloggers are being attacked for not responding to her horrendous comments even though most of us 1) didn't even know she existed until today and b) did not read her comments on Jeff Goldstein's blog, protein wisdom where he has now written an update saying he doesn't feel 'victimized'. You can follow more of the reaction on memeorandum.
Missiles in N Korea. War in Iraq. Mayhem in Gaza. Taliban in Afghanistan.
Seems there is a helluva lot more important stuff to be debating. Maybe it's just me.
