It could, of course, be argued -- and has been -- that the American involvement in Afghanistan followed far more logically from the 9/11 attacks than toppling Saddam Hussein and wrecking his country.
That's putting it rather fucking mildly, wouldn't you say, Iain?
There was absolutely no logic involved in linking 9/11 to Iraq.
(And don't count on America "surging" anytime soon in Afghanistan either.)
