A UK Military 'Shooting Spree' in Afghanistan?

The Guardian reports allegations and an investigation into a possible 'shooting spree' against civilians by UK troops in Afghanistan last weekend:

British military authorities are investigating allegations that Royal Marines shot indiscriminately on Afghan bystanders following a suicide bombing last weekend.

At least two people died and five were wounded by shots fired from a supply convoy that raced through Kandahar after coming under attack. The incident has sparked widespread public anger in the southern city, where recent suicide bombs have frayed nerves and shortened tempers among Nato forces.

As the story details, the soldiers fired at civilians miles from the scene of the suicide bombing attack. The military claims the shots were justifiable due to the circumstances but area residents obviously see it much differently. We'll have to wait for the results of the official investigation to hopefully find out what really happened.
