How precious: my very first open thread.
Not as precious as these two, however. Meet Crab Puff and Boo Boo - my grandchildren. Crab Puff was born on January 14, 2006, so he has a lot to learn about politics. Boo Boo has been well-schooled so far.
P.S.: Those are
nicknames, nicknames!
What would you teach these two about the world today?
I would teach them to always follow the compass of their heart. It has done their grandmother very well.
ReplyDeleteThe pic was taken just a couple of hours after Crab Puff was born. He already weighs 11 pounds now. I'm sure he'll be snowboarding by April.
ReplyDeleteI've got a compass in there? I hope it doesn't have the same effect as stray buckshot.
ReplyDeletelol! You're a nutbar. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm at catnip's blog and there's cute kids...
ReplyDeletewoo hoo.
pyrrho was at my blog. :)

I'm of the view (or at least I choose to be of the view for the sake of whimsy here ;)) that Boo Boo is born knowing everything he need to know.. all that's left is to discover what he already knows! Adults , however, are often very good at twisting one's view into oneself and the reality of one's world. I know you wont be one of THOSE types and he will grow up with his view into the world uncorrupted and as clean as it should be. However, whatever the future may bring, we can say that Boo Boo is probably already the wisest person in most every room he graces his presence with!

ReplyDeleteI raised my daughter as a liberal, I had hoped, but she turned out to be a Conservative Party supporter (until she realized the error of her ways). :)
I agree that kids are here to teach all of us. When I had to stand up for liberal ideas with my daughter who disagreed, I learned even more about what I believed in and my views and arguments were strengthened.
Of course, the number one thing children teach is how to love unconditionally. That is what always endures.
Hi, my name is Tim. Just wanted to say hi to the forum, I been creeping around here for a while now, but tend to participate more. Looking forward to make some new friends. Ciao!
