Yes, MPs Get Paid For This

As I noted on Wednesday, question period was quite a fiasco with Conservative MP Galipeau blowing a gasket over comments made by Liberal David McGuinty. But, as CTV reports, (h/t apply-liberally) that's not all that went on.

Stay tuned for Thursday's episode. Here's a preview:

Didn't Harper promise to restore dignity to the house of commons? Then again, when he thinks this is the definition of "dignity", is it any wonder that he and his gang have broken yet another election promise? But really, what can you expect from a party that puts such a juvenile picture of Stephane Dion on its official site? How dignified.

All they seem to know about "dignity" is that it's somewhere in the dictionary between "despicable" and "dirty".

Update: Galipeau has apologized, sort of...

Galipeau, who represents Ottawa-Orleans, said he has always protected francophone rights, has never been partisan and was trying to set the record straight.

"I may have crossed the floor, but he crossed the line," said Galipeau.

Number one: If you're not partisan, why didn't you run as an independent?

Number two: If you can't stand the heat (to the point where you have to get out of your seat and actually assault another member), get out of the House.
